Why am I a Hanuman Devotee- Part 1



On my 8th birthday, I wanted a panchmukhi Hanuman picture as a gift. I had just finished seeing Ramayan and was blown away by Lord Hanuman. Hanuman was the son of Kesari and Anjani. He is an avatar of Lord Shiva, a devotee of Lord Ram, and a student of Surya dev.


I have become his devotee and seek blessings from him. I am his devotee because he’s such a big devotee of Lord Ram and I was stunned by what sacrifices he has done for his lord, Shri Ram. I’ll tell you one story of what Hanuman had done for his lord. A few qualities of Hanuman that I like are that he is knowledgeable, he’s loyal to his lord, He’s powerful, and is faster than the wind.

When the Ram and Ravan war was going on Laxman, Shri Ram’s brother, and Shri Ram were shot by Ravan’s son Indrajeet. Indrajeet was very powerful which his name symbolizes. His name was Indrajeet because he had won over Lord Indra. After that day’s war in the night, Laxman and Shri Ram were unconscious and the others didn’t know what to do. Suddenly a god came and told them the cure for them. He refused to reveal his name but his cure was correct. The cure was a medicinal plant Sanjeevani from the mountain Dronagiri. But they had to get the plant before dawn, there were only a few hours left and the mountain was very far. That’s when Hanuman said that he could bring the plant. Hanuman would do anything for his Lord. And he flew to the mountain. When he reached there, all the plants were looking similar and he had no idea which plant to bring. But then he remembered that he was running out of time and that he had no time to decide which plant to take. So he lifted the whole mountain and took it to his Lord. Now that God who had told the cure for Shri Ram and Laxman took out the correct plant from the mountain and put it in Shri Ram and Laxman’s mouth. In a few minutes, they opened their eyes, and the next day they won the war.


This was just one of the stories, there are many more. I am inspired by all things he has done for his lord. According to mythology Hanuman is still alive and stays in the mountains of the Himalayas.

    Nice blog Sanaa. In fact let me tell you that I am also a great devotee of Lord Hanuman. I hardly skipped a Saturday from visiting Maruti temple during my college days.

Gurukul system vs. Modern Education system

  My family and I visited the Sandeepani Ashram i n Ujjain  a few months ago. Sandeepani ashram was the place where Lord Krishna and Balram were educated. On the bank  of the Shipra  river , the place was so beautiful.  It  was  full of old green trees which  made  it very shady and peaceful. There was also a well there which  has been in  existence since  olden times .  As per the belief, we put a coin into the well and asked for a wish. Secretly in my heart, I hoped that Corona should go away. Inside the ashram, there were many different pictures of Krishna, Balram and their friend Sudama.
